New MunSD Office on the 39/F of Skyline Tower, Kowloon Bay

The New Municipal Sector Division (MunSD) and Digitalization and Technology Division (DTD) Office of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) sits at the top floor of the Skyline Tower in Kowloon Bay, and features a combinationoise of open plan, semi-private and enclosed workspaces, providing choice and flexibility in a multi-dimensional way. Placing emphasis on employee physical and mental health, acoustic pods, breakout areas, lounges, noise-cancelling areas and brainstorming barns have been incorporated in the interior design, phasing out the traditional office layout of expansive swathes of desk bays. The cutting-edge workplace has further been transformed with a biophilic design, with an extensive use of plants, natural materials and high natural light coverage.

In addition, the interior design adopts many innovative and environmental features like real-time CO2 monitoring, robot cleaning and light sensors to reduce energy consumption. This project is targeted for the BEAM Plus Building Interior (Version 1.0) – Platinum rating.
